Sydney, Jan 24, 2012 (Global Fashion Wire) - Caressa is an Aboriginal woman, descendant from the Gumbayngirr nation located along North Coast New South Wales. At a young age she discovered a love of fashion, where she developed her passion over the years. Having always known her heritage, she did not completely identify as an Aboriginal woman until much later. In 2008 she began an Aboriginal art class and discovered an untapped talent to paint Dream Time stories, during that same year, Caressa explored joining the two elements closest to her heart, her culture and fashion to combine them into something the fashion market is yet to fully explore.

Compelled by peers and given the right timing Caressa completed the Rainbow Serpent dress which entered into the Deadliest Dressed Competition at the Sunset event prior to the Deadly's held at Sydney Opera House, where it turned many heads. Caressa was then asked to design a dress for 2010 ARIA's to be worn by Jade Blair whom accompanied Dan Sultan who won 2 ARIA's (Best Male Artist and Blues and Roots).

At Chic Petite presents Creatives Caressa will be displaying a mixture of pieces from the Spirit Tree Collection Autumn/Winter 2012, a sneak peek of Spring/Summer 2012/13 Spirit Tree Collection and two stunning evening wear pieces that were entered in 2011 Deadly Dressed Competition and advanced through to the Finalist selection.

The Spirit Tree collection is based upon an original Dream Time story that has been passed down by our Aboriginal elders to each generation, it tells the story of our transition from death to Heaven. When we die our bodies go back into the ground, our souls seperate from our physical bodies and travel back to Spirit Tree. The souls attach to the roots and travel up the root of the tree, waiting for the angels to guide them back to Heaven.

Caressa will also be displaying a collection of her artworks in the art installation at Chic Petite presents Creatives, where she will be happy to explain the stories of her Dream Time artworks.
