Sydney, May 17, 2012 (Global Fashion Wire) - Liz Brown's label, Truso was created from the Sydney based designers love of printed fabrics. The name Truso is an adaptation of 'Trouseauxs Treasures,' Liz's Grandfathers women's lingerie label that was based in Sydney in the 1950/60's.

Truso was launched in 2003 and focused on using soft textiles to make a very unique range of handbags, wallets and clutches. Over the last 9 years designer Liz has developed her skills and began to incorporate leather within the accessories range.

Of major concern for designer Liz is assuring that minimal environmental footprint is made during the production of Truso accessories. Liz sources all leather locally, with a majority of the leather collection taken from discarded leather garments. The construction, cutting and design are all done from a small suburban studio with the designer's contribution to every stage of the process. It is due to the intimate nature of the production process that each accessory has it's own unique qualities.

Since its inception in 2003, Truso has called 3 major cities home. Sydney Australia, Dublin Ireland and Perth Australia. It is during her recent time in Perth that Liz completed her fashion design degree, and began the development of her garment collections. Liz developed a very structured, tailored aesthetic, which stemmed from her love of the patternmaking process. Strong influences on Liz's design aesthetics also stem from her early childhood in the 1980's. Teaching her how to sew when she was 4, Liz's earliest fashion influence was her mum. Liz would watch her mother create dress after dress and even attend patternmaking classes with her at the tender age of seven.

Liz describes her style as a garment designer as 'formed, structured, rigid, an experiment of transforming the silhouette of the body form.'
