New York, Apr 23, 2012 (Global Fashion Wire) - First Steps - Gabriel Lage forges his own career influenced by his father and grandfather who were the highly known Spanish tailors of Haute Couture that introduced him in the world of fashion during his adolescence (and from whom he learned the European techniques of Haute Couture and the finest skills of handmade high quality garments).

In 1990, he chose the city of Mar del Plata to present his first Prêt-á-Porter collection. In that same city he opened his first atelier. It was when his customers asked him to design night dresses that Prêt-á-Porter paved the way to Haute Couture. Due to impact and demand he moved back to the city where he was born.

In September 13th, 1995 he presented his first collection of Haute Couture in Buenos Aires. The beginning of long term success had begun. That same year, the designer devoted himself to create his own studio, teaching and training his personnel in order to embody the spirit of his designs in the fabrics. Since then, excellent craftwomen work with him.

As of that date, he has made several presentations of his collections in Buenos Aires, in other Argentine provinces, Uruguay, Paraguay, Dubai, Chile, Dominican Republic, Paris, New York. Preserving the essence that characterizes the brand and without even aiming at it, he has acquired an international scope.

These are a few of the activities carried out last year:

- He has been invited to the First Annual Worldwide Fashion Week New York City as Argentina's official representative

- Presentation production of the clip "I love Ingrid" made in New York with the Argentine top model Ingrid Grudke.

- He participated at Argentina Fashion Week in Paris. September, 2001.

- Presentation production of the clip made in París with the Argentine top model "Pampita" Ardohain.

- Buenos Aires Alta Moda, August, 2011.

- Presentation of the collection "Argetina Showcase" at the Caribbean Fashion Week. June, 2011

- Presentation at Semana de la Moda Argentina in Santiago de Chile. April, 2011.

- Collection presentation at Buenos Aires Alta Moda. April, 2011.

- Presentartion production clip "Caprice".

- Runway finale Punta del Este, Uruguay. Febraury, 2011.

- Finale Mar del Plata Moda Show, Argentina.


On November 11th, 2011 he was welcomed in New York together with some other famous designers of the world who will present their collections during the first International Fashion Week of the Year in that same city.

Gabriel Lage has been chosen by World Fashion Week and World Fashion Organization, which are devoted to support international fashion development and to raise awareness on social, corporate and environmental liability in the fashion industry on a global scale, as Argentina's official representative.

On December 6th, 2011, Gabriel Lage was awarded the "Tijera de Plata" for his Haute Couture Collection. This prize is granted every year by the Cámara Argentina de la Moda.


Eclectic and timeless creations play its role at the different events of the most demanding women of Buenos Aires, Argentine provinces and other capital cities of the world. Handmade dresses, fully hand embroidered, painted or extra details make every creation a unique piece.

Colours palette is used in all its range. The material are specially created and recreated to achieve the same uniqueness that defines the women who will wear it; elegant, sophisticated and audacious.

The different designs, mermaid shape, flared, ethereal or made with specially selected materials such as muslin, silk, prints, animal print, embroidered fabric, painted fabric are fused to the accurate point where the garment matches the imagination of the designer and the design needed by every women.

Each day, the designer works untiringly to reach the elegance and glamour of the women that choose his creation to dress the different and relevant moments of their lives.
